Amanda T. McIntyre

Amanda T. McIntyre (born 1981) is a Trinidadian author, artist and advocate focusing on cultural studies and literary scholarship. She also serves as the Curator for IERE.

Amanda T. McIntyre (born 1981) is a Trinidadian author, artist and advocate focusing on cultural studies and literary scholarship. She is the Interim Art Administrator at New Local Space (NLS), Kingston, and was an advisor for the Curatorial and Art Writing Fellowship hosted by NLS. In 2020, she was part of the faculty for the La Pràctica Artists Residency. McIntyre is also a policy and advocacy specialist. She is the founding director of the She Right Collective, a Caribbean-based feminist organization that focuses on, but is not limited to, sexual and reproductive health and rights.

McIntyre is best known for her performance art practice. She is the creator of the Dolly Ma persona. This is a Baby Doll masquerade with signature couture dresses influenced by Victorian and Edwardian fashion. Amanda participates every year in Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival and has won several prizes for her performances. She was awarded the title “Ole Mas Champion” in 2017 by the Bocas Literary Festival and the National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago.
